Education
Pursuing an M.S. in Information Architecture and Knowledge Management, May 2007, Kent State University, Kent, OH.
Project: Mealographer (http://www.mealographer.com)
§ Created diet tracking web application, including requirements, database design, and implementation. Responsible for the information architecture, graphic design, and branding.
§ Conducted formal usability test, including use of eye tracking system, found a number of issues and implemented enhancements.
Research Project: Online source credibility – Experts and fellow users
(http://www.jasonmorrison.net/writing/online_source_credibility_05.pdf)
§ Attempted to measure the effect of attribution on the perceived credibility of web sites. Specifically, do user reviews or expert authors seem more credible than plain, unattributed information?
Paper: A review of recent library web site usability studies
(http://www.jasonmorrison.net/writing/the_patron_strikes_back.pdf)

Experience
Senior Analyst, SBC and AT&T, Brecksville, OH, June 2004-present
Project: Granite Lightspeed Inventory
§ Created Web Load Tool to streamline data entry. Analyzed user tasks and current procedures to eliminate duplicate effort. Time to create network sites and equipment was decreased and users could now create multiple items in one step.
§ Managed transition of XngRCAccess application over to Granite development team. Mapped out tasks required and transition timeline, coordinated meetings to train developers, documented and helped install software and services. Helped with testing, analyzed impact of code changes, and tracked outstanding issues.
§ Technologies: Granite/Xng, JSP, Java, Servlets, Oracle, SQL, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
Project: Bill and Audit Controls (BAC) Usage Controls
§ Analyzed and documented existing BAC applications and trained developers. This was critical because Usage Controls was based on earlier applications.
§ Mentored programmers in web development and created HTML, CSS, ColdFusion, SQL, and JavaScript exercises for team retraining. Helped develop coding standards.
§ Played a large role in design of dynamic, database-driven tool that allowed users to analyze telephone usage data. Application allowed users to drill down from high-level dashboard to detailed data reports.
§ Oversaw development/testing of Java background process, coordinating work of employees, contractors and offshore. Background process contained much of the business logic and applied user-defined rules to incoming data to generate summarized results and “alerts†for users.
§ Contributed performance enhancements, including indexes and query changes that decreased run times by a factor of 60.
§ Technologies: ColdFusion, Java, Oracle, SQL, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript
Intranet Developer/Prepress, Liturgical Publications, Valley View, OH, May 2002-June 2004
Project: Production Tracking Database
§ Identified need for production tracking database to replace paper-and-pencil system. Conducted user interviews, devised project requirements, conducted user testing, and created user documentation.
§ Built production database in MySQL, created front-end intranet web application with PHP. The system allowed staff of around 20 to track customer information and tech support calls, track hundreds of complex printing jobs from FTP through printing and shipping, and see analytical reports. Created user interface, administered database and added Excel and PDF export functionality.
§ Technologies: PHP, MySQL, SQL, HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
